IBAYS Suzuki Cup is moving into its 5th and final league round this weekend, lets take a look at how the teams are placed.
Group A
Qualcomm and R&I have already qualified, they face off in the first game tomorrow and Qualcomm has pretty much cemented its first spot with a massive 3 point NRR lead. R&I could tie it on points if they beat Qualcomm tomorrow and that would give them huge momentum going into the knockouts, although with their current form Qualcomm would be very tough to beat.
HSBC GLT still has a chance to finish 2nd statistically, if they win they game with a big margin and R&I loses they could sneak into second position. HSBC GLT started really slow but have been giving improved performances in every game.
And with Prime already eliminated, this means that the last spot is going to be decided in the match between SQ consulting and Pegasystems. The huge loss against Qualcomm and its NRR impact could come back to haunt Pegasystems.
Group B
In Group B HCCL leads the pack and also has a good cushion with NRR lead. Autoselect Blazers are currently in 2nd place and are scheduled to play Convergys. The NRR difference between 2,3 & 4 is not too big and with one big win Convergys could possibly climb all the way to second place.
Zonah would like to get some momentum going after that loss in round 4 but DWP would love to spoil their party and finish their tournament with a win.
DWP has already been eliminated and Yashoda Hospitals have got a very huge NRR deficit to overcome to have any chance of qualifying.
It will be a very interesting weekend of cricket. Lets just pray that rain does not play spoil sport :)
