With the knockouts around the corner we take a look at the standings to see which of the teams will be making it to the prestigious Platinum Cup of the premier Pure Corporate Tournament in Hyderabad.
In Group A we have 3 teams tied with 3 wins but Genpact and Optum have a huge NRR advantage. If they can manage to win their games then they will qualify for the Platinum cup. However TCS Hyderabad will be rooting for Verizon and Microsoft so they can have an opportunity to qualify if they beat Inrhythm Solutions.
Two time defending Gold cup champion Microsoft also still has a statistical chance to make it to platinum but they need a miracle for that to happen.
Group B is also in an identical situation with RED 2 Champions HSBC, RED 3 Champions Unisys and Microsoft R&D tied with 3 wins each.
In the first game of the group HSBC beat the defending Champions Unisys convincingly but later lost to Microsoft R&D. Unisys managed to bounce back and beat Microsoft R&D to make it all even again. All 3 teams are not playing each other in the last round so it could come down to NRR to see who gets to the top.
Group C is a little more divided in comparison to A & B. Here we have two teams that have not been beaten yet. Aarvee and JDA, these two teams will be locking horns this weekend so we will know which team would end up topping the group.
As most of you already know there was a penalty handed out in this group when a team entered with fake ids. HCCL takes it rules very seriously and we removed that team and replaced in with a genuine team during the tournament. This has negatively affected the tournament but it was necessary to maintain the integrity of the tournament. We hope it also sends a message to all the fake teams out there that things like these are taken very seriously over here.
We have different tournaments for different kind of teams and where mixed teams are welcome in our Orange tournaments they are definitely not allowed in our RED ones.
All the best !
